FROM COMO TO BELLAGIO (2 HOURS)
By boat or private vessel surrounded by water, mountains and dream villas, we are already in a movie … On the left, the beautiful neoclassical Villa Olmo stands out in the middle of its Italian garden, where three famous films were shot. On the right, Villa Cornaggia Medici, now Musa, which appeared every day for five years in the television series Vivere. Next comes Cernobbio, with Villa Erba, an unsurpassed location for numerous commercials and films of great worldwide success, such as Ocean’s Twelve, the successful series by Steven Spielberg with George Clooney and his gang. Further on is Villa D’Este, where a very young Alfred Hitchcock shot scenes from his first feature film Pleasure Garden in 1925, followed by other directors. Further on, on the Torno shore, the sixteenth-century Villa Pliniana was the melancholic set of Mario Soldati’s film Malombra. Passing in front of Laglio, we cannot fail to take a curious look at the beautiful Villa Oleandra, home of George Clooney for at least four months of the year, his buen retiro in the company of his famous actor friends. We arrive at Isola Comacina, also a set of Pleasure Garden, and then at Villa del Balbianello, a location coveted by famous directors, such as John Irving, who shot A Month by the Lake, George Lucas, who filmed memorable scenes of Star Wars, Attack of the Clones and Martin Campbell, who set many scenes of Casino Royale there. We disembark at Bellagio, where our itinerary can continue by boat and on foot.
