The Longest Suspension Bridge in Switzerland
In May 2015, on a hillside a few minutes outside Bellinzona, the Tibetan-style suspension bridge was opened — Switzerland’s longest at 270 meters (885 feet). This marvel of engineering joins two territories on either side of a deep and steep gorge, allowing a beautiful walk through vineyards, chestnut forests and characteristic pastures with spectacular views. Along the way, we visit one of the most important Romanesque churches in Switzerland’s Italian-speaking region. This tour is suitable for active people accustomed to hiking in the mountains, including children. Proper hiking attire and shoes are required. Ascent by cable car is also possible. The tour can be adapted to meet specific requests.
