Carona, Land of Artists
Through the centuries, Carona, located on the hills above Lake Lugano, has attracted many artistic, literary, musical, and cultural personalities. The tour winds through the village, an architectural jewel of narrow streets, little squares, splendid churches, and beautiful patrician houses of the Carona artists, including Casa Pantrovà, built by Lisa Tetzner and Kurt Kläber. Continuing through the forest, we reach the charming Madonna of Ongero Sanctuary to admire the beautiful frescoes. Comfortable walking shoes are required.
