Cardada and Cimetta – Downhill Hike
From Locarno, with the aerial cableway designed by Mario Botta, the famous architect from Ticino, we reach Cardada, a splendid place facing the sun from morning to evening. A few houses and a rich flora and fauna. From here, the spectacular view spans from the Valais, with the highest peaks in the Alps, to the entire Locarno region, and from Lake Maggiore to the Apennines in Liguria. Your guide will introduce you to all this beauty with information that you will not find elsewhere. We continue higher up, all the way to Cimetta, where the breathtaking panorama widens to 360 degrees, to include even the mountains in the Bernese Oberland. We return to Cardada on foot, on a beautiful path amongst summer grazing pastures and birch woods, and then return by aerial cableway to Locarno. Depending on the time available, there is the option to have lunch at a typical mountain restaurant. The tour lasts about 3-4 ore.
