This cycle tour begins with a visit to a World Heritage site. Castelgrande Castle and its walls, towers, ramparts and gates in Bellinzona will amaze adults and children alike. After leaving Bellinzona and its castles you will traverse the Ticino region’s pancake flat vegetable garden – the Piano di Magadino. Remains of the water meadow landscape with its wealth of amphibian and bird wildlife can be seen in the Bolle di Magadino nature reserve. The holiday area of Tenero plays host to numerous tourists camping at sites on the shores of Lake Maggiore. The route takes you along the busy lakeside promenade to bustling Locarno. Once there, enjoy the «dolce far niente» on the Piazza Grande. Deposit the bike and train back to Bellinzona or Lugano
