A tour to the top of Lake Como, to visit the artistic wealth of Gravedona: the churches, such as the unusual S. Maria del Tiglio, the fifteenth-century S. Maria delle Grazie, rich in frescoed stories, that of SS. Gusmeo and Matteo, Palazzo Gallio, the small squares and the characteristic alleys.
From the pier we head towards the historic center and from the Belvedere Pracastello we let our gaze wander over the breathtaking panorama: to the north and south the frame of the Alps and the imposing Mannerist Palazzo Gallio, built on a rocky promontory jutting out between the mountains and the lake, the peak of Monte Legnone at 2609 m and the Piona Abbey, the sinuous and gentle wide branch of the Lario up to the promontory of Bellagio, the enchanting gulf of Gravedona and its plain. Then in the ancient village we discover the alleys, the palaces and the historic homes with decorated facades, the stone portals, the loggias, the towers, the courtyards. Everything tells us of a past rich in historical events and of the administrative-religious importance of the place. Finally, through the visit of three of the thirteen churches of Gravedona, we travel the history of this important corner of the lake from the 11th to the 17th century: the church of S. Maria del Tiglio, S. Maria delle Grazie and the church of SS. Gusmeo and Matteo.
