IN THE HEART OF LAKE COMO: VARENNA, BELLAGIO AND MENAGGIO (7 HOURS)
The private boat or the ferry will take us to these three different towns in the Central Lake, to discover similarities, differences and peculiarities.
We land in Varenna and, following the suggestive walk of love suspended between the rocks and the lake, we reach the center of the small town, with its medieval charm, all gathered around its square, where the beautiful basilica of S. Giorgio stands. The Vezio Castle stands guard halfway up the hill, while on the lake shore, Villa Cipressi and Villa Monastero welcome tourists on holiday or busy with conferences. In Bellagio we disembark in the ancient village stretched out on the enchanting promontory at the foot of the former castle, now Villa Serbelloni. We walk on the typical stairways flanked by elegant shops, up to the Romanesque basilica of S. Giacomo, then, skirting the lake, we reach the extraordinary romantic park of Villa Melzi D’Eril. Menaggio, on the other hand, built to connect Lake Como and Lake Lugano, immediately appears almost like a small town, with its large hotels and refined lakeside, large squares and hamlets halfway up the hill.
