Mount Bré

One of the two mountains that, together with Mount San Salvatore, frame the Gulf of Lugano. Reachable by funicular, its summit offers a splendid view of the lake and the mountains. A beautiful and pleasant walk on a comfortable downhill path leads to the village of Brè. Until a few decades ago, it was dedicated exclusively to agriculture and grazing, but today it is in a transitional stage towards modern life. However, it fully retains its medieval charm in the midst of a unique landscape and the quiet of the countryside, ideal conditions for artists who in recent years sought inspiration and settled there, leaving behind works that we can still admire.
